Don and the Roping Dummies

WESTERN MUSIC & FUN

Don & The Roping Dummies are all about Western music and fun! Formed on the high plains of Colorado to play the classic American music of the 1930’s and 1940’s Singing Cowboys of the Silver Screen, the RD’s are a breath of fresh air.

Don grew up idolizing Roy Rogers and had opportunities to meet Roy, as well as Gene Autry as a young man, cementing his admiration for the men, their life style and their music. Don Miller, the lead singer, has enjoyed a varied career as a stunt performer, big band leader and vocalist.

Mike Dudley on the mandolin and vocals is an established bluegrass performer in Colorado and signed up as an original member of The Roping Dummies. To round out the Dummies they have Tom Barbour on guitar and David Becher on acoustic bass.

Tom is a 1930’s jazz aficionado and collector of vintage guitars. David plays a swinging doghouse bass that anchors the Don & The Roping Dummies brand of Western Swing.

Cd’s available from this site and you can download and stream all of the songs on Itunes, Spotify, Amazon and dozens of other stores across the world.
